Kalei Stoopen en Meeus 25kg + Kleurstof Egg 251

If you want an authentic look, you will be fine with this original kalei from Stoopen and Meeus.

This chalk comes in powder form in bags of 25 kg. The powder is diluted with water, just like in the old days, and a dye can be added if required. 

Choose not to add any colouring agent? Then you get the original kalei colour "natural".

With an original Stoopen and Meeûs bag of 25 kg of kalei powder, you will do an area of about 20 -25 m², depending on the substrate.  

Working method:

1. First make sure the surface is clean. Remove any green deposits with a suitable facade cleaner.

2. Measure out 10 litres of water and add the dye if you wish to use it and mix well.

3. Use a concrete mixer to mix the kalei under the water until you get a homogeneous mass.

4. Apply the whitewash with a block brush and finish in the direction of the joints.

5. After drying you can apply a second coat.

Tips:

* You can also use multiple colour pigments to achieve a darker result ( up to a maximum of 3 times the amount of dye).

* Clay can also be used perfectly indoors.

* Joints that are too deep or loose should be touched up beforehand.

* Cover floor tiles and sills well, and tape off windows and doors before starting to apply caulking.

* Watch out for night frost and rain while carrying out the work. Working in full sunshine is also not a good idea.

* Lightly mist the façade with water beforehand to improve the adhesion of the whitewash.  

* Always work wet-on-wet to avoid blockages. 

* Provide help. It is helpful if someone can touch up kalei if needed, while the 'painter' can continue working without stopping...

* Imperfections (such as different bricks or touched-up sections of wall) are camouflaged by the kalei, creating a harmonious look.
